Formula 1 Global Coverage

Formula 1 races reach a global audience of over 1.5 billion viewers annually. The sport has invested heavily in expanding its reach, with a mix of traditional broadcasters and the innovative F1 TV streaming service.

F1 TV Pro

F1's own streaming service, F1 TV Pro, offers live race coverage in many countries (though not all due to existing broadcast deals). Where available, it provides:

  • Live coverage of all sessions: practice, qualifying, and races
  • Multiple onboard camera feeds
  • Team radio access
  • Alternative commentary options
  • Full race replays and archive content

Broadcasting by Region

United Kingdom

Sky Sports F1 holds exclusive live rights in the UK, with Channel 4 showing highlights and selected live races. Sky's coverage is comprehensive, with pre-race build-up, expert analysis, and all practice and qualifying sessions.

United States

ESPN broadcasts F1 in the US, using Sky Sports' world feed with American commercial breaks. F1 TV Pro is also available as an alternative.

Europe

Coverage varies: Sky Italia in Italy, Canal+ in France, Movistar+ in Spain, RTL and Sky Deutschland in Germany. Several countries maintain free-to-air coverage for their home races.

Middle East & North Africa

MBC Action provides free-to-air coverage across the MENA region in Arabic, while beIN Sports offers premium coverage.

Asia Pacific

Fox Sports covers much of Southeast Asia, while Star Sports handles India. Japanese fans can watch on Fuji TV and DAZN.

Latin America

ESPN holds rights across Latin America, with Star+ providing streaming coverage. Brazilian fans also have Band TV as an option.

Race Weekend Schedule

A typical F1 race weekend includes:

  • Friday: Practice 1 and Practice 2
  • Saturday: Practice 3 and Qualifying (or Sprint formats)
  • Sunday: The Grand Prix

Race times vary based on location, with European races typically at 2-3pm local time and races in Asia/Americas scheduled to accommodate European viewing times where possible.
